This exceptional Quartz specimen was acquired recently from the famous Chhappu locality in the Braldu Valley, Shigar District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It features a beautifully developed Quartz crystal with outstanding transparency, excellent glassy luster, and sharply defined crystal faces. Delicately perched across the Quartz are attractive crystals of the rare phosphate mineral Viitaniemiite, creating a striking and unusual mineral association. The contrast between the clear Quartz and the white Viitaniemiite enhances the specimen’s visual appeal while highlighting the rarity of the association. Quartz is one of the world’s most admired minerals for its exceptional crystal forms and durability, while Viitaniemiite is a rare phosphate mineral that is highly sought after by collectors due to its limited occurrence.
