Brucite Crystal on Chromite Matrix
Brucite crystal on Chromite Matrix is one of the more impressive and aesthetic specimens of the yellow Brucites from recent finds in Pakistan several years ago, because of the hot color and impressive 3-dimensionality.
Brucite at its Best, Talking about the shape and aesthetics this specimen features an unbelievably perfect and superb aesthetic ball of Brucite crystal naturally formed by Chromite matrix.
The specimen itself is super aesthetic with beautiful bright yellow Brucite sitting Perfectly on the Chromite matrix without any damage at all in my humble opinion extraordinary and unique specimen.
Overall, Brucite crystal on Chromite Matrix is just an impressive and beautiful thing for any mineral specimen, but unprecedented in showmanship for a Brucite!
What is Brucite
Brucite is the mineral form of magnesium hydroxide, with the chemical formula Mg(OH)2. It is a common alteration product of periclase in marble; a low-temperature hydrothermal vein mineral in metamorphosed limestones and chlorite schists; and formed during serpentinization of dunites.
Brucite is often found in association with serpentine, calcite, aragonite, dolomite, magnesite, hydromagnesite, artinite, talc and chrysotile.
Yellow, white, and blue Brucite with a botryoidal habit was discovered in the Qila Saifullah District of Province Baluchistan, Pakistan.
And then in a later discovery, Brucite also occurred in the Bela Ophiolite of Wadh, Khuzdar District, Province Baluchistan, Pakistan.
Brucite has also occurred in South Africa, Italy, Russia, Canada, and other localities as well but the most notable discoveries are in the US, Russian and Pakistani.
