This large, thick honey-yellow barite crystal from the Meikle Gold Mine in Nevada is adorned with a cluster of white calcite on one side, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. The barite crystal is exceptionally lustrous, ranging from transparent to translucent. The Barite features well-defined faces and edges, with large, tabular surfaces displaying faint, intricate growth lines under the right light. Unlike the more common medium to light yellow Barite specimens from the Meikle Mine, this crystal boasts a rich, deep yellow color with much more intense saturation, a glassy luster, and a dramatic overall appearance.
