Rubellite Tourmaline on Lepidolite and Albite from Brazil
This is from one of the greatest elbaite discoveries, this Jonas Mine specimen is a rich, cranberry color, and is both transparent and lustrous. Good to great specimens from this find are getting hard to find and expensive.
A “JONAS” tourmaline is one of those essentials, to which all other rubellites are compared. This was the most famous tourmaline find of the century, perhaps ever, to most folks’ way of thinking.
This cranberry-colored elbaite is from the famous pocket in the late 1970’s. This specimen is spectacular, featuring a doubly-terminated crystals and exhibiting exceptional color.
The classic Rubellite variety is showcased with this Jonas Mine piece perfectly associated with a pinkish lepidolite cluster. The superb specimen is extremely aesthetic and, of course, is from a famous locality.
The combination of color and form make this a wonderful collector specimen.
