Aegirine
These aegirine specimens from the Saparay Mine, Zagi Mountain, Peshawar District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, are admired for their etched, needle-like terminations and striking associations. The crystals range from deep dark green to greenish-black, sometimes shading into brownish-black or pure black, and often stand out boldly against a snowy white albite matrix. They are frequently accompanied by rutile, byssolite, and titanite, creating a rich contrast that enhances their aesthetic presence. While aegirine is found in many parts of the world, these Pakistani examples are especially prized for their sharp etched termination and visual drama, combining elegance and strength in a way that makes them a fine centerpiece for any collection.
