Diaspore

Diaspore is a rare aluminum hydroxide mineral prized for its sharp, prismatic crystals, brilliant luster, and remarkable optical properties. It is typically colorless, yellow, or pale green, but certain crystals exhibit a striking color-change effect depending on the light source, shifting between green, pink, and champagne tones. This rare optical variety is sometimes referred to as zultanite or csarite in the gem trade, though natural crystals remain highly prized in mineral collecting. Turkey is the world’s most famous source of fine diaspore, producing superb crystals of exceptional size, clarity, and form. Twinned specimens are especially admired, forming dramatic V-shaped structures that highlight the mineral’s crystallographic uniqueness.
