Pink Tourmaline
Pink tourmaline is one of the most admired varieties of the species, known for its soft to vibrant hues and elegant crystal habits. Afghanistan has produced some of the world’s finest specimens, especially from the famous pegmatites of Nuristan, Paprok, and the Pachigram Mine. The Pachigram Mine is particularly celebrated for its striking bubble-gum pink tourmaline crystals, which stand out for their vivid coloration, sharp terminations, and outstanding aesthetic appeal. These specimens often occur in association with quartz, albite, or lepidolite, which enhances their overall visual appeal. Brazil has also been a historic source of pink tourmaline, yielding high-quality crystals notable for their clarity, color saturation, and consistent form. These examples set a benchmark for gem and collector quality worldwide. Pakistan, especially from the Chhappu area, has also produced attractive pink tourmaline crystals. While generally less abundant than Afghan or Brazilian specimens, they show excellent form and pleasant pastel tones, adding to their charm and desirability among collectors.
