Pezzottaite
Pezzottaite, sometimes called the “raspberry beryl,” is a rare cesium-bearing gemstone first discovered in Madagascar in the early 2000s. Its vivid raspberry-pink to purplish-red hues, combined with its rarity, quickly elevated it into one of the most desirable collector’s minerals of modern times. Unlike other beryl-group minerals, pezzottaite’s rich color and rarity make each specimen a prized treasure. Madagascar remains the classic source, producing exceptional crystals that display both intensity of color and sharp form. Because of its short history and limited availability, fine pezzottaite is regarded as a modern classic, a mineral that will only grow in importance for future collectors.
