Pargasite

Pargasite is a rare amphibole mineral characterized by its rich green to deep emerald coloration and sharply defined, lustrous crystals. Often forming elongated prisms or blocky crystals with bright surfaces, it sometimes rests on a contrasting matrix that enhances its visual appeal. Collectors admire pargasite for both its vibrant tone and its impressive crystal form, which give it a distinct presence among silicate minerals. The mineral was first described from Pargas, Finland, the locality that gave it its name. Today, notable occurrences are also known from Pakistan, China, Italy, Myanmar, and the United States, each contributing distinctive forms. Pakistani specimens, in particular, are renowned for their sharpness and intense color, ranking among the finest of this species worldwide. Although far less common than many other silicates, pargasite remains highly sought after. Its combination of rarity, striking color, and mineralogical importance ensures that every fine example becomes a standout addition to advanced mineral collections.
