Fluorapatite, the most common member of the apatite group, is admired for its vivid colors, sharp hexagonal crystals, and strong luster. It can occur in a wide range of hues, from bright greens and deep blues to purples, yellows, and colorless forms, with transparency varying from gemmy to opaque. Under UV light, fluorapatite often shows a striking fluorescent effect, adding further interest to its visual character.
