Anglesite, a secondary lead sulfate formed through the oxidation of galena, is admired for its clarity and radiant luster. Crystals are commonly tabular to thick tabular, sometimes with sharply pointed terminations, and can display remarkable transparency. Depending on impurities present during formation, anglesite occurs in a range of colors, including yellow, white, gray, brown, green, orange, red, and even black when associated with galena. In rare cases, it may exhibit multicolored zoning, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Some of the world’s finest specimens are known from Touissit in Morocco, a locality celebrated for producing exceptional crystallized lead minerals, making anglesite both a collector’s prize and a mineral of great scientific interest.
