A beautiful and elegant specimen featuring a tall crystal of beryl var. aquamarine gracefully rising from a bright albite matrix. The aquamarine measures 7.6 cm and stands proudly upright, giving the specimen a strong, refined vertical presence. The crystal displays a lovely icy blue color with very good transparency, allowing light to pass beautifully through the prism and highlight its natural clarity. Fine vertical striations run along the faces, and the crystal terminates with a clean, flat top, giving it a classic and well-defined appearance. The albite matrix forms an attractive, snowy-white base and hosts several sharply contrasting black schorl crystals. These schorl prisms provide a dramatic visual contrast against the pale albite and luminous aquamarine, enhancing the overall balance and aesthetics of the piece. The combination of colors and textures creates a striking display that draws immediate attention. Beryl is a well-known mineral species that forms in hexagonal crystals and occurs in several famous gemstone varieties, including emerald, morganite, and aquamarine. Aquamarine, the blue variety of beryl, is especially admired for its cool ocean-like tones, clarity, and elegant crystal form. Specimens such as this, where a tall aquamarine crystal stands prominently on matrix with contrasting associated minerals, are particularly desirable among collectors.
