Chondrodite
Chondrodite is a rare member of the humite group, appreciated for its warm, honey-yellow to orange color and pleasing crystal forms. It forms in metamorphosed magnesium-rich rocks and commonly occurs with spinel, calcite, and diopside. Notable specimens come from Afghanistan and the United States, where crystals can be translucent to gemmy and show a soft internal glow in light. Well-formed crystals on matrix are uncommon and highly collectible, making chondrodite an excellent choice for collectors seeking unusual mineral species.
