A striking example of lazulite on matrix, this specimen immediately draws attention with its rich azure to deep indigo blue coloration and bold crystal presence. The primary crystal displays a well-formed, wedge-like habit with a smooth, lustrous surface, accompanied by smaller associated crystals that enhance the overall composition. The contrast between the vivid lazulite and the pale, textured matrix creates a beautifully balanced and highly aesthetic display. Lazulite is a rare magnesium-aluminum phosphate that crystallizes in the monoclinic system, often forming sharp bipyramidal or wedge-shaped crystals in metamorphic environments such as quartzites and gneiss. Fine specimens like this are especially prized for their intense color and distinct crystal form. Although the main crystal has a repair, it does not detract from the overall visual appeal, as the color, luster, and structure remain truly exceptional, making this a very collectible and display-worthy piece.
